Sources
Weather records come from meteorological agencies, opening dates from operators and travel requirements from governments. Important sources appear beside the guide so you can check them yourself.
Prices
A price is only useful with dates and assumptions. Live examples state what was searched and when. Broader budget figures are labelled as planning estimates, not available fares.
Experience
If a writer has made the journey, we say so. If a guide is based on desk research, we say that instead. We do not turn research into an invented story about being there.
The compromise
Every trip has a reason to choose something else. We put that trade-off near the recommendation, where it can prevent the wrong booking.
